Tunisia was one of 123 countries to vote in favour of a global halt on the employment of the death penalty, during the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly, which took place this Wednesday, December 16, 2020, according to a press release from the LTDH “Tunisian League for Human Rights”.
The organization estimated that this is a consolidation of the process towards modernity and honour for human rights as well as a first move towards the ultimate abolition of the death penalty from Tunisian legislation.
