Tunisia-UGTT calls for increase in wages

The National Administrative Commission of the Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT) called on Wednesday May 29, 2024 for the necessity to resume negotiations and to increase wages in the private and public sectors and the civil service and increase the SMIG and retirees’ pensions.

The UGTT also called for tackling inflation and increasing prices. It rejected what it called “the unilateral management of social funds” which jeopardises its sustainability. The UGTT also rejected the amendment to Article 96 of the Penal Code.
