UGTT spokesperson Sami Tahri declared today in a press briefing that the UGTT has prepared a rescue program for the Tunisian economy.
He stated this project was developed by a group of specialists from various backgrounds, and that it was founded on an assessment of the government’s program presented to the IMF, and spare solutions.
Tahri added that this reform project was delivered yesterday to seven ministers and two managers general and that it could be officially presented to the prime ministre by Noureddine Tabboubi, tonight or tomorrow.
During the press briefing, one of the experts mandated by the UGTT presented the major lines of the project proposed to the government and which revolves around the following points:
- Reduction in the increase in state expenditure
- Mobilization of resources through a tax system reform
- A plan to revive the economy, with new industrial policy and better public debt engineering.
