US Ambassador in Tunis Donald Blome repeated his country’s assistance to Tunisia in the several security, economic and financial fields.
Talking on Friday during a meeting with Finance Minister Mohamed Nizar Yaich, Blome stated “it is important to take advantage of all opportunities and cooperation programmes available to Tunisia, such as the programmes of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and “Prosper Africa” for the promotion of trade and investment between the United States and Africa, said a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance on its official Facebook page.
Blome told Tunisia’s moves toward democratic transition are critical, telling the Tunisian experience sets an example on the international stage.
For his part, the Minister of Finance examined the efforts made by the Tunisian government to manage the COVID-19 crisis and the significant results recorded at this level. He also emphasised the measures taken to support the economic sectors affected and the programmes aimed at boosting all economic sectors during the next stage.
On this occasion, Yaich highlighted the relationships between the two countries, as well as US support at the bilateral and multilateral levels.
