Commenting on the health situation, Chairman of the parliamentary health committee, Ayachi Zammel, emphasised that it had to be acknowledged that the situation is critical and that ICU units are almost saturated.
He highlighted the death percentage in the country, which has seen a sharp rise in recent days due to the rapid spread of the COVID-19.
Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, the MP indicated that the citizen no longer respects the health protocol, which has added to the deterioration of the situation.
He affirmed that the latest measures adopted by the government are more or less acceptable, in light of the country’s current economic situation.
Mr Zammel called on citizens to respect the health protocol and wear masks to shield themselves against the Coronavirus and preserve their health. He indicated that the latest government measures can be effective if the citizen begins to apply them properly.
Regarding the measures that have been adopted within the parliament, the MP said that the office had decided to recommence remote work calling on MPs to respect health measures.
