Tunisia- [Video]:Imed Ben Halima: Maher Zayd is a dangerous element in parliament

Political activist attorney Imed Ben Halima announced in a video posted to his page on July 31, 2021, that Al Karama MP Maher Zayd is “a dangerous element in the parliament.”He highlighted the influence of Islamists in Zayd affair and examined its history.
“This man was part of Ghannouchi’s group who escaped to Algeria. He was a double infiltrator. Once he landed in France, his companions declined him and rejected to give him the certificate of his membership in the movement proving his arrest, torture or harassment he suffered with them. ” he declared.
“Once back in Tunisia, he was appointed by Noureddine Bhiri to the court of first instance of Tunis in charge of special missions” he specified.
“Very special” missions:
“Security agents discovered terrorist case documents hidden at his house. The inquiry may reveal his involvement in the robbery of Ahmed Rouissi’s PC, mentioned by the defence committee of the two martyrs Chokri Belaid and Mohamed Brahmi. “, he said.
“He was judged at first instance for 4 years in jail, the Islamists were unable to negotiate with the magistrate in charge of the case. During the appeal phase, the case was reviewed by a magistrate on the secret body’s list of assassinations. He continued.
Dammak case:
The secret body’s case is based on the Dammak case that preceded the assassination of Chokri Belaid, in which the plot of his murder was reported. Thanks to the convergence of our efforts, we rectified its direction and it was referred to the anti-terrorism judicial pole and to the prosecution at the Sousse Court of Appeal, “said Ben Halima.
Maher Zayd case:
Mr Ben Halima affirmed that Maher Zayd case was prolonged for 1 year at the Court of Appeal due to the transferal of the case from one criminal chamber to another, then was referred to the Court of Appeal of Tunis, emphasising that the case was enlisted over 3 years from 2018. “Who is Maher Zayd? What are the parties that shield him? It is under the protection of the khouanjis only and the General Directorate of Special Services already knows it! »He said
Likewise, Maher Zayd was later elected as an MP in 2019 and enjoyed parliamentary immunity, adding that there is no news on the physical record of his case and called on the prosecution to initiate an inquiry to this effect. Ben Halima explained that Maher Zayd had founded an organization to battle corruption and was previously friends with Judge Béchir Akremi. “
Through his organization, he intimidated many businessmen into filing complaints against them. When Akremi declined to look into these (corruption) cases their friendship ceased. ” he indicated.
Considering all these elements, Me. Imed concluded that these people must be punished in accordance with the law.
