Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, Minister of Transport and Logistics Moez Chakchouk informed that the cessation of civil service recruitments had produced a terrible shortage of personnel within the Ministry and the multiple public companies under its supervision.
As for the ministry’s preparation for the peak of interregional displacement that happens during the period of Aid, Mr Chakchouk said that everything depends on the actions that will be determined by the health authorities.
If the latter allows travel between regions, the ministry will execute all the required measures so that the return of Tunisians to their hometowns takes place in the most suitable circumstances.
He further said that the financial situation of some regional transport companies does not permit them to possess bank loans to be able to make the necessary reformations, adding that Tunisian buses are not of international standards.
