The agents of the municipality of Sfax resumed this morning the collection of waste accumulated in the roads of the city for two months in the attendance of the mayor, the governor and other officials.
The mayor of Sfax told Tunisie Numérique that the waste will be carried to the Menzel Chaker landfill. He added that municipal officials will take care of the waste collection from other areas in the following days. The mayor further praised the efforts of city officials to collect waste as well as that of some businessmen and construction contractors.
He further called on the National Waste Management Agency (ANGED) to commit to supporting the efforts of the municipality and to requisition a large number of trucks to transport large quantities of waste.
