Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi, on Tuesday, asserted his responsibility to uphold the whole judicial process, as well as all resolutions that will be declared in the case of waste imported from Italy.
Speaking at an unannounced visit to Sousse port, the PM said that his administration has no plan of meddling in any way in the affairs of justice, especially in this case. Mechichi evoked that the case is in the hands of justice, which has commanded the seizure of 282 containers inside the port of Sousse until the end of the investigation. He emphasised that the government, which secures that international conventions governing the import and export of waste are abided with, will accept court decisions.
The latter will absolutely assert Tunisia’s right to return the waste containers to their shippers.
