Tunisia-Who is Ahmed Adhoum Minister of Religious Affairs?

Ahmed Adhoum has been retained as minister of religious affairs in the new Hichem Mechichi government.

Born July 12, 1954, in Kairouan. He holds a master’s degree in law and joined the judiciary in 1978.

In 1984, he was appointed judge at the Tribunal Cantonalof Kairouan before joining the head of the Court of First Instance in the same district in 1988 then the Court of First Instance of Mahdia in 1989.

Ahmed Adhoum was appointed in 1995 president of the Court of First Instance of Monastir. He also served as president of the Court of Appeal of Bizerte before being appointed the first president of the same court in 2000.
He was appointed on January 28, 2011, Secretary of State to the Minister of Finance in charge of State domains. From March to December 2011, he was Minister of State Domains and Land Affairs in the government of Béji Caïd Essebsi. He has also held the position of President of the High Administrative and Financial Control Committee since March 2014.

Ahmed Adhoum held the post of Minister of Religious Affairs in the government of Youssef Chahed and Elyes Fakhfakh.
