The World Health Organization resident representative in Tunisia Dr Yves Souteyrand stressed the necessity to increase the scope of screenings to better track the coronavirus (COVID-19). Speaking to Shems FM he underscored that Tunisia has started to enrol in this perspective of extending screenings to people at risk and speculated of being carriers of the virus.
“Tunisia reacted early with its prevention policy, which gave positive results,” he said. However, there are still some cautions. In fact, according to the WHO Representative, certain health rules are not respected in Tunisia, like the safety distance between people of at least 1 meter. He also welcomed the decision to extend the period of confinement until April 20, 2020.
