Tunisia has been awarded the 2025 Arab Award for Blood Transfusion Services in the category of excellence and leadership, on the occasion of the opening of the 15th Arab Conference on Blood Transfusion Services, held in Kuwait on 21 January 2026.
The award was presented to Professor Salama Hamida, a hospital-university professor of pharmacy and Director General of the National Blood Transfusion Center, by the Arab Organization for Blood Transfusion Services and the Council of Arab Health Ministers. The distinction recognizes his academic career and his efforts to develop blood transfusion services and enhance their quality in line with international standards, according to a statement released Friday evening by the Ministry of Health.
This recognition reflects the high caliber of Tunisian expertise and underscores Tunisia’s active role on the Arab stage in supporting public health and advancing blood transfusion systems.
