Tunisian actress Inès Najjar dies in Cairo

Tunisian actress Inès El Naggar passed away Monday at the age of 42, after suffering from an illness in recent weeks, according to Egyptian media.

According to local press reports, the late star suffered from acute inflammation of the gallbladder, which left her in a coma for nearly five days. Despite doctors’ attempts to save her by placing her on a ventilator, her condition deteriorated rapidly, and she died this morning, Monday, March 31.

It is worth noting that Inas Al-Najjar’s most recent work was her participation in the series “Al-Halanji,” aired during the 2025 Ramadan season. It was written by Mahmoud Hamdan and directed by Moataz Hossam.
Born on June 28, 1983, in Sfax, Inas Al-Najjar started her career by appearing in a music video for Bahaa Sultan’s song “Ya Trey.”
Her performance attracted attention and prompted director Mohamed El Naggar to nominate her for her first role in Egyptian cinema in the film “Meadow Problems” alongside Ahmed Helmy, which marked her true breakthrough in the comedy world. Throughout her career, Inas El Naggar has starred in numerous films, including “Bahbek and Ana Kaman” (2003), “Ali Spicy” (2005), “Karkar” (2007), “Ahasis” (2010), “Ezbet Adam” (2009), “Kelby Delili” (2013), and “One Saeedi” (2014).
