Tunisian community issues discussed during a Tunisia–Romania meeting on immigration

    The Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia to Romania, Sami Naqa, held a working meeting on February 4, 2026, with Tiberiu Gim Giurea, Inspector General of Romanian Immigration.

    The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to commend the level of cooperation between Tunisia and Romania, particularly in areas related to migration and administrative coordination, while exploring ways to further strengthen this collaboration.

    Special attention was given to the situation of the Tunisian community residing in Romania, across all categories. Discussions focused on:

    • regularization of residence status,

    • simplification of administrative procedures,

    • facilitating the integration of Tunisian nationals into Romanian society.
