Engineer Amin Bouabid, robotic project manager in a private robot manufacturing company, affiliated with the Sousse Technological Development Center, declared the beginning of export of the first Piguard robot specializing in security and protection, to the ‘Texas American State next week.
He added in a press statement that a second batch includes 3 robots which are being installed and which will be exported later.
The company intends to export about fifty robots to the American continent until December 2025, therefore becoming the depositary of Tunisian technological products, as part of an agreement with a company specializing in securing facilities such as airports, ports, factories and border protection.
What distinguishes this robot in its cutting-edge version, known as the “guardian robot”, is its ability and efficiency to detect intrusions up to a distance of 2 km. It is equipped with an infrared thermal camera with a 300-meter night vision distance.
The robot, designed for the first time in 2014, also underwent many additions to its external appearance and included developments in artificial intelligence, cameras and the control point.
Among the basic functions that the Piguard robot will fulfil appear to secure the border between America and Mexico, as well as securing major facilities.
Bouabid confirmed that the Tunisian company has concluded an accord with the United States of America to establish a branch in the State of Texas, indicating that its objective is to extend to the United States of America at first , including on the American continent.
The company also exported a dozen pickguard robots to France.
