Customs services at the Melloula border post, on the Tunisia-Algeria frontier, foiled an attempt to smuggle 4,500 Ecstasy pills hidden in a foreign-registered vehicle. An additional 140 narcotic pills were also seized during the operation.
For reference, in 2024, Tunisia’s Customs Guard units confiscated over one million psychotropic pills, 257 kg of cannabis, and 33 kg of cocaine as part of the country’s anti-drug trafficking efforts.
