The Tunisian justice system has categorically denied the information relayed by certain media, both national and international, regarding an alleged indictment of the Prime Minister of the Libyan government of national unity, Abdulhamid Dabaiba, before a criminal chamber specializing in terrorism cases, according to MosaiqueFm.
These allegations, attributed to a Tunisian electronic site, were described as “false and without any basis” by the prosecutor’s office at the Tunis court of first instance.
In response to this disinformation, the prosecutor’s office ordered the opening of a judicial inquiry against the site in question, as well as against any person who could be identified during the investigations. The accusation is based on the intentional use of communication networks to disseminate false information to infringe on the rights of others and harm public security.
In addition, Tunisian judicial authorities have invited the media to confirm the veracity of information related to legal cases before their publication, stressing the importance of relying on reliable and official sources.
