Tunisia’s Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Riadh Chaoued, announced the permanent closure of 16 private training centers found to be operating in violation of legal and regulatory standards. The statement was made during a joint plenary session held yesterday in Parliament.
According to the minister, inspection teams uncovered serious administrative and pedagogical irregularities, prompting firm measures to protect the integrity of the national vocational training system and ensure the quality of services provided to trainees.
Chaoued also revealed that the ministry has referred several cases to the judiciary involving overseas recruitment offices accused of misleading job seekers with illegal or non-compliant employment contracts. He stressed the ministry’s commitment to combating fraudulent practices targeting young Tunisians aspiring to work abroad.
The minister urged job seekers to verify the official list of authorized recruitment offices through the ministry’s website or regional employment directorates before engaging with any intermediaries.
On the financial side, Chaoudh stated that the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training’s budget for 2026 is estimated at 1.06 billion dinars, compared with 1.01 billion dinars in 2025, representing a 5% increase allocated to strengthening integration programs, improving training quality and supporting training institutions.
