Tunisian-Libyan working session to discuss ways of cooperation in field of urban planning and infrastructure development

Minister of Equipment and Housing, Sarah Al-Zaafarani, held a working session with the Libyan Minister of Local Government, Badr Al-Din Al-Toumi. The session concentrated on exploring avenues to strengthen collaboration between the two countries in urban planning, decentralized management, and the formulation of sustainable urban policies. The objective is to accomplish a balance between urban growth and environmental preservation. The discussion also included plans for developing administrative services and structures for local administration units, as well as the exchange of experiences in urban planning, decentralized management, and infrastructure development.

 
 

The two sides also examined enhancing means of cooperation between the two countries in the areas of preparation, education, reconstruction, protecting cities from floods, reviving old urban centres, and upgrading residential neighbourhoods.

Further, discussions involved the prospect of collaboration with study offices and contracting companies in both Tunisia and Libya to execute joint projects. The parties agreed to enhance and activate this cooperation by organizing meetings that would bring together technical experts from both countries to develop a comprehensive action plan in this regard.
