The Tunisian national volleyball team departed from Tunis-Carthage International Airport on Sunday, June 15, 2025, heading to the Italian city of Lamezia Terme.
This first overseas training camp is part of the team’s preparation for the 2025 World Championship in the Philippines.
The camp will run from June 15 to 22 in Camigliatello Silano, a town located in the Calabria region, within the province of Cosenza.
This training camp presents a valuable opportunity for head coach Camillo Placì to assess the players’ technical skills and physical condition. The preparation program also includes several high-level friendly matches against Italy’s second national team.
The delegation is led by the head of mission, Mr. Iqbal Ben Mefteh, and includes national head coach Camillo Placì, along with his assistants Anouar Taouergui and Mohamed Jelassi.
Also part of the delegation are physical trainer Slim Yaïch, physiotherapist Aymen Nejari, and IT specialist Mohamed Ben Ali.
The list of selected players includes: Khaled Ben Slimane, Hamza Nakaa, Mohamed Ben Youssef, Elyes Gharamsli, Elyes Bouachir, Alaa Samoud, Ahmed El Kadi, Slim Mabrouki, Mohamed Raidan, Mohamed Helal, Hamza Hafidh, Walid Bakkour, Oussama Ben Romdhane, Oumar Akrabi, and Mehdi Ben Taher.
