MP Ali Zaghdoud, a member of the “ The people shall prevail ” bloc in the Assembly of the Representatives of the People, said in an exclusive statement to Tunisie Numérique that an elective session will be held tomorrow, Thursday, to choose the bloc’s chair, deputy chair, the bloc’s representative on the Assembly Bureau, as well as its representatives within parliamentary committees.
Two candidates in the running for the bloc leadership in 2026
According to Ali Zaghdoud, two names are currently being put forward to lead the bloc for 2026: MP Abdessalem Dahmani and MP Ali Zaghdoud.
Distribution of responsibilities: 2 committee chairmanships and 6 posts in total
The MP also detailed the share of responsibilities allocated to the “The people shall prevail” bloc within parliamentary structures. These include:
2 committee chairmanships
2 positions as assistant to a committee chair
2 positions as committee rapporteur
Ali Zaghdoud stressed that all of these posts will be elected on Thursday, as part of a rotation mechanism designed to ensure internal alternation of responsibilities “among colleagues within the bloc.”
