The Tunisian Parliament, in a statement on Monday, April 7, 2025, denounced the ongoing arrogance of the Zionist occupation and its relentless attacks and brutal airstrikes on the Palestinian people, which have resulted in more than 50,000 martyrs and 115,000 injured and wounded.
The Parliament strongly condemned the continued disregard of the occupying entity for all international charters and resolutions, and its refusal to heed calls for an immediate halt to this destructive war, in a deliberate violation of international laws and human rights principles.
The Parliament voiced deep concern over the rapid developments of the genocidal war, which includes starvation, displacement, and destruction carried out by the Zionist entity against defenseless civilians in Gaza and other areas, in clear violation of the ceasefire. This reflects a repeated pattern of violating all treaties and agreements.
In the same statement, the Parliament renewed its absolute solidarity with the Palestinian people and expressed deep concern for their dire conditions, lacking the necessities of life due to the closure of crossings and the blockade preventing the delivery of humanitarian and medical aid. It also praised the popular movements in various Arab and international capitals, which seek to break the disturbing international silence regarding the horrific crimes being committed against civilians, including children, women, and the elderly. The Parliament called for increased efforts and involvement in supporting Gaza, the West Bank, and exposing the crimes of the occupation.
The Tunisian Parliament also urged national parliaments and regional and international parliamentary unions and councils to intensify their efforts and initiatives to join this international solidarity movement with the Palestinian people, and this popular movement rejecting the continued Zionist violations against civilians, calling for an end to these heinous crimes and doubling efforts to find mechanisms to provide international protection for the Palestinians.
The Parliament reiterated Tunisia’s firm stance in supporting the just cause of the Palestinian people and their struggle for their legitimate rights, including the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
