Tunisian–Saudi cooperation: contract signed to build King Salman Hospital in Kairouan

    The minister of Health, Dr Mustapha Farjani, presided, on the afternoon of this Wednesday, 10 December 2025, over the signing ceremony of the contract for the construction works of the King Salman bin Abdulaziz University Hospital in the governorate of Kairouan. This major project is financed by the Saudi Fund for Development.

    A ceremony presided over by the minister of Health

    The signing ceremony was held under the direct supervision of the minister of Health, in the presence of the ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Tunisia.

    Also attending the event were a delegation of representatives of Saudi and Tunisian contracting companies, along with a number of senior officials from the ministry of Health, representatives of the various departments concerned, and the German agency attached to the ministry of Health.

    A project financed by the Saudi Fund for Development

    The King Salman bin Abdulaziz University Hospital in Kairouan is a project financed by the Saudi Fund for Development, as part of Saudi–Tunisian cooperation in the health sector.

    This financing is part of a broader drive to support public infrastructure in Tunisia, particularly in inland regions, with the aim of improving access to specialised care and reducing regional disparities in health services.
