Tunisian tourism is experiencing a strong resurgence in 2025. According to Mahdi Haloui, Director General of the National Tourist Office, the country has welcomed 3.4 million tourists so far this year—a 10.2% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
In a statement to Diwan FM, Haloui expressed confidence in the sector’s momentum, noting that Tunisia is on track to meet its ambitious target of 11 million visitors by the end of the year, provided the current pace continues.
This upward trend in arrivals is expected to have a positive impact on Tunisia’s foreign currency revenues. In 2024, tourism generated 7.5 billion dinars, and this figure is expected to be exceeded in 2025, thanks to the increase in arrivals and the emergence of new high-spending markets.
The country’s tourism strategy focuses on diversifying source markets, improving the quality of services, and enhancing Tunisia’s global appeal. As a Mediterranean destination, Tunisia continues to attract tourists with its cultural heritage, climate, and renewed investment in infrastructure and promotion.
