The regional transport companies of Medenine and Gabes ensured on Friday the repatriation of 360 Tunisian nationals who had been stranded in Libya since March 31 at the Ras Jedir border crossing.
These persons will be taken to mandatory lockdown centres in their respective governorates where they will spend 14 days as part of preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19.
Regarding the repatriated who are from Medenine, a hotel in the region as well as a building in Ben Guerdan have been arranged by the regional authorities and made available to accomodate the persons concerned by the mandatory health lockdown.
The repatriation scheduled for Thursday had been postponed to Friday morning due to the continuous flow of expatriates, causing tension, Governor of Medenine Habib Chaouat told TAP on Thursday.
