A 5.8-magnitude quake hit Istanbul in the Marmara Sea on Sept. 26 prompted fear amongst local Istanbul residents
The earthquake hit at a considerable depth of 6.99 kilometres at 1.59 p.m. local time near the Silivri district of Istanbul, according to Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu wrote on his Twitter there were no direct reports of damage or innocent people wounded.
