Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Tuesday that the country’s coronavirus vaccine Turkovac will enter use before the end of 2021.
“It is not clear how long this disease will go on and how many mutations it will go through. It is critical that we have our own vaccine against this disease,” Erdogan said at an event marking the start of the jab’s third trial phase. Turkovac vaccine uses an inactivated virus, similarly to China’s Sinovac shot.
