The Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Thursday to slam Israel as “the greatest threat to the security of our region” after its recent airstrikes on Syria’s territory and urge it to stop such actions.
Israel’s attacks came amid reports that they served as a warning to Turkey. Israel also accused Ankara of seeking to convert Syria into a Turkish protectorate.
“It is impossible for Israeli ministers to conceal the genocide they are committing in Gaza, the all-out war against the Palestinian people, settler terror, the intention to annex the West Bank, and the expansionist ambitions behind their attacks on Syria and Lebanon by targeting Turkey,” the Foreign Ministry said.
