Turkey set to send troops to Nagorno-Karabakh

Turkey’s Defense Minister Hulusi Akar announced on Tuesday that his nation is planning to send 36 officers to collectively oversee with Russia the recently reached peace in Nagorno-Karabakh.

“After the completion of the construction and launch of the joint centre, our general and 35 officers will begin service,” Akar maintained according to the Defense Ministry, adding that the centre will probably begin working in January.

Turkey and Russia agreed to establish a joint military centre in the disputed Azerbaijan region of Nagorno-Karabakh at the start of December, in order to ensure the peace between Baku and Yerevan is respected.
