Latam Airlines Group SA in a statement released on Tuesday revealed it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in a New York court as the air carrier found itself facing financial issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
South America’s largest airline’s filing applies to its business in the United States alone and will allow the company to keep operating while looking for a way to pay off its creditors.
