United States President-elect Joe Biden affirmed on Monday his appointment of Janet Yellen for Department of the Treasury secretary. Yellen before worked as Federal Reserve Chair from 2014 to 2018 under former President Barack Obama. If she is confirmed, Yellen will be the first woman ever to be at the head of the US Treasury.
The Biden transition team additionally announced a number of other nominations. Wally Adeyemo was tapped for deputy Treasury secretary. Neera Tanden has been nominated to serve as director of the Office of Management and Budget. Cecilia Rouse was tapped for the chair of the Council of Economic Advisers, while Jared Bernstein was picked as a member of the council, together with Heather Boushey
