Johns Hopkins University’s tally showed the daily jump in new coronavirus deaths in the United States landed at 1,592 on Tuesday, surging compared to the 679 fatalities seen the day before, which takes the nation’s coronavirus death toll to 149,180.
During the same time, the total infections in the country increased by 60,085 to 4,346,748, while the cumulative number of tests administered by the nation’s health workers passed 52.9 million.
