Former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin who was charged with the murder of George Floyd had his bail set at $1.25 million, Circuit Court Judge Jeannice Reding ruled on Monday.
Chauvin, who was second-degree murder without intent, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter, made his first court appearance over the video feed earlier today while his next court appearance was scheduled for June 29.
He killed Floyd on May 25 during an arrest in Minneapolis, kneeling on his neck, which sparked anti-racism protests across the globe.
