U.S-Nevada hit by 5.9-magnitude earthquake

A 5.9 magnitude earthquake hit Nevada late on Thursday, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

The epicentre was 32 kilometres south-south-west from Smith Valley, a place in Lyon County, which is home to around 1,627 people, according to the 2019 Census.

The tremor struck the region at 9.8 kilometres, nevertheless, it remains unknown as of yet whether there were any losses or damages.
