U.S-Pakistani doctor Creates Device To Increase Ventilator Capacity

Residents in South Windsor surprised Connecticut State Senator Dr. Saud Anwar with a convoy of cars that paraded by his house, to show their gratitude for the work he’s doing on the front lines as a lung doctor at Manchester Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Saud Anwar, Pakistani American doctor, invented a setting – connection modus in the US, wherein one medical breathing air ventilator will help ventilate 7 patients at a time.

According to Anwar, the four-piece splitter has been used in the most severe cases, like the 2017 Las Vegas shooting.

“The doctor over there was smart enough,” Anwar said, “He was actually able to coordinate things and then put as many people on a ventilator to save as many lives as he could and buy time.”

Anwar is also a Connecticut state senator serving East Windsor, South Windsor, East Hartford and Ellington.
