The Austrians, who boast one of the tournament’s strongest defenses with only one goal conceded, secured a 2–0 victory. They will face England in the Round of 16, after the English side defeated South Korea (2–0).
This is the first-ever meeting between the Europeans—who notably handed a resounding 0–3 defeat to Mali, the reigning bronze medalists—and the Tunisians at a U17 World Cup.
