British Foreign Secretary David Lammy announced on Monday that his country will suspend some licenses for arms sales to Israel following a review of the former’s compliance with international law during its military operations in Gaza.
“For certain UK arms exports to Israel, there does exist a clear risk that they might be used to commit or facilitate a serious violation of international humanitarian law,” Lammy added while talking before the House of Commons. “Facing a conflict such as this, it is this government’s legal duty to review Britain’s export licenses.”
