UK, Japan sign defense agreement

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida signed a defense agreement on Wednesday that will see the two countries allowing their armies to use each other’s territory.

“The UK is committed to the security and stability of the Indo-Pacific,” the UK prime minister’s office tweeted after the signing of the Reciprocal Access Agreement, which is a “landmark agreement to allow the UK and Japan to deploy forces in one another’s countries.”
