The number of COVID-19 infections in the United Kingdom surpassed 10 million on Thursday, according to official data. With 47,240 new cases in the last 24 hours, the total number of infections since the start of the pandemic stands at 10,021,497.
There have been 147 deaths since Wednesday, with the death toll reaching 144,433. Over 46 million people have had two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, while 16,383,575 have received a third dose or a booster.
