The UK recorded 22,950 new infections with COVID-19, bringing the total to 1,256,725, the country’s Department of Health on Wednesday.
The daily death tally rose by 595, the highest 24-hour increase since May 6. Since the start of the outbreak, 50,365 people succumbed to the virus.
