Ukraine Dossier: Zelensky in London for Talks with Macron, Starmer and Merz

According to Le Monde, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will meet tomorrow, Monday, in London with French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

Emmanuel Macron posted on X that the meeting aims to review “ongoing negotiations as part of the U.S.-led mediation” intended to open a path toward de-escalating the conflict in Ukraine.

In the same context, the U.S. State Department announced that Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, unofficial adviser to President Donald Trump, held their sixth meeting in two weeks with Ukrainian officials on Saturday, December 6.

According to American and Ukrainian officials, any agreement “depends on Russia’s willingness to demonstrate a serious commitment to a lasting peace, notably through measures to de-escalate and cease hostilities”.
