Ukrainian Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin submitted his resignation on Tuesday in the wake of a scandal involving an alleged misuse of power to provide military draft exemptions for government officials.
“In this situation, I believe it is appropriate to announce my resignation from the position of Prosecutor General,” Kostin said in a statement on his official Telegram channel. “Many shameful facts of abuse have been established within the system of prosecutor’s offices of Ukraine.”
