United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk emphasized Monday that any political transition in Syria must ensure “accountability” for crimes committed during President Bashar al-Assad’s command.
Turk stressed to journalists the need for “perpetrators of serious violations” to face justice and for the protection of minorities, preventing retaliation.
