Update on 9 new rabies vaccination centers

Among the establishments, there are the Béchir Hamza Children’s hospital, the El Hedi Raïs university hospital for Eye Diseases and the Charles Nicolle Hospital. This initiative has made it possible to grow the number of equipped emergency services to 315 in the country, which makes it possible to medically and preventively treat individuals bitten or scratched by potentially infected animals, 24 hours a day.

The same source adds that this decision was taken in February 2024, therefore before the explosion of cases, to reduce the burden on the Pasteur Institute.
