US Air Power Near Iran’s Airspace Raises Fears of Imminent Military Strike

Hebrew media reported on Monday, January 12, 2026, an unusual increase in US military air activity near Iranian airspace, fueling speculation about a possible American strike against Tehran amid rising regional tensions.
According to the same sources, a growing number of US aircraft have been observed operating in the vicinity of Iran’s airspace over the past hours. The deployments reportedly include KC-135R aerial refueling tankers and B-52 strategic bombers.
The aircraft are said to have taken off from Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, located southwest of Doha, which serves as one of the largest US military hubs in the Gulf region and a key logistical center for long-range air operations.
This movement followed a signal issued by the White House on Sunday evening, interpreted by observers as an elevation of military readiness. Shortly afterward, several KC-135R refueling planes and B-52 bombers reportedly departed Al Udeid, heading toward operational zones close to Iranian airspace.
Military analysts note that the combination of B-52 bombers, capable of conducting long-range strategic strikes, and KC-135R tankers, essential for in-flight refueling, suggests preparations for extended air operations and sends a strong deterrence message to Tehran in the context of persistent tensions between the United States and Iran.
