The United States House of Representatives approved on Friday the most significant federal gun restrictions in decades after Senate passed it yesterday, sending the bill to President Joe Biden to sign.
The House approved the legislation with 234 votes in favor, since 14 Republican representatives joined the Democrats. The legislation will enhance background checks for 18- to 21-year-old Americans who wish to buy guns.
However, the Democrats’ proposal to ban the sale of assault weapons for people under 21 wasn’t greeted by Republicans.
