US-Iran War Costs Reach $33.4 Billion as Ammunition Stocks Come Under Pressure

The cost of the US war against Iran has reached approximately $33.4 billion as of June 30, according to the Inspector General of the US Department of War.

The report said that Operation “Epic Fury” contributed to a significant decline in US ammunition stocks while placing additional pressure on military supply chains. The intensive use of munitions during the operation also created logistical bottlenecks and increased strain on the defense supply network.

In response, the US Department of War is working to accelerate ammunition procurement procedures and shorten production timelines. The measures are aimed at rebuilding depleted stockpiles, strengthening military readiness and ensuring that the armed forces can meet future operational requirements.

The report highlights the financial and logistical challenges created by the conflict, particularly the need for the United States to maintain sufficient ammunition reserves while sustaining a high level of military readiness.

Washington is therefore seeking to expand and speed up defense production, while improving supply-chain capacity and reducing delays in the delivery of critical military equipment.
