The United States is deploying approximately 3,000 additional troops to the Middle East from the 82nd Airborne Division amid growing menaces to American forces in the region, the Pentagon announced
A senior U.S. official, talking on condition of anonymity, stated additional U.S. deployments were also being weighed, including forwarding elements of the Europe-based 173rd Airborne Brigade for assignments like embassy protection in Lebanon on Friday, reported Reuters.

The troops will be following the approximately 750 forces that were assigned to Kuwait earlier this week. Usually, a brigade consists of about 3,500 people.
