The National Institute of Meteorology announced that the weather on Thursday, February 12, 2026, will be marked by significant atmospheric disturbances, including rainfall, powerful winds, and very rough sea conditions, along with varying temperatures across regions.
Thunderstorms and Locally Heavy Rain in the Northwest
The northern regions will experience occasionally dense cloud cover with scattered rain, temporarily stormy along the northern coastal areas. Rainfall is expected to be locally heavy in the far northwest, while the rest of the country will see passing clouds without major precipitation.
Powerful Winds and Reduced Visibility in the South
Winds blowing from the western sector will be strong across most areas, with peak speeds ranging between 60 and 80 km/h. Gusts may temporarily reach 100 km/h, particularly along the northern coasts and highlands. In southern regions, the winds are likely to lift sand and dust, significantly reducing horizontal visibility and requiring caution from motorists.
Very Rough to Violent Seas
Sea conditions will be very rough to locally violent in the north, while the remaining coastlines will see rough to very rough waters, potentially disrupting maritime activities and fishing operations.
Moderate Temperatures Overall
Maximum temperatures will range between 15°C and 20°C in the north and western highlands, and between 21°C and 25°C elsewhere, with highs locally reaching 27°C in the south.
Caution Advised Amid Unstable Weather
Given the expected strong winds and hazardous sea conditions, residents are advised to remain vigilant and follow updated weather bulletins for any developments.
