WH to enforce bans on Russia, Iran’s arms trade

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre underlined on Monday that Washington will continue to enforce sanctions on Russia and Iran’s arms trade, claiming that Iran has not been “truthful” about the supply of UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) to Moscow.

“This was part of Russia’s plan to import hundreds of Iranian UAVs,” stressed the press secretary, adding that “extensive proof” shows that Moscow has used drones against both military and civilian targets in Ukraine. Jean-Pierre commented that this morning’s attack on downtown Kyiv “appears” to have used an Iranian drone.

The press secretary disclosed that new reports revealed that Tehran intends to sell more “destructive weapons” to Moscow to support an “invasion they claim to oppose.” According to Jean-Pierre, new bans on arms trade will “make it harder” for Iran to sell weapons to Russia.
